Marking its debut in Southeast Asia, Disney Store has opened its doors at the SM Mall of Asia, Philippines.

Launched by International Toy World (ITWI) – an affiliate of SM Retail – the flagship store offers a range toys, collectibles, fashion items, homeware, and Disney Parks products inspired by Disney IPs such as Disney, Pixar, Marvel, and Star Wars.

The store also features life-size sculptures and photo spots with characters such as Mickey Mouse, Queen Elsa, Winnie the Pooh, Darth Vader, and Spider-Man, making it an immersive experience for visitors.

Rose Marie Dylim, President of  ITWI, said that by bringing Disney Store into the country, the company aims to bring the magic of Disney closer to home.

“We are thrilled that Disney fans in the Philippines can connect with their favourite characters in exciting new ways at the Disney Store by SM,” she concluded.

Disney’s decision to open a new store in Southeast Asia comes at a time when the company has been closing many of its retail stores in the US since 2021, as part of a strategy to shift towards e-commerce.

However, the new store in the Philippines highlights its focus on expanding its retail presence in international markets, especially in regions where demand for its branded merchandise remains strong.
