Footwear retailer Hoka has opened its Bondi 9 pop-up in Hong Kong to mark the latest generation of its ultra-cushioned road-running shoe.

The pop-up, located at Fashion Walk in Causeway Bay, offers a “sensory-driven experience” featuring the Bondi 9’s key features. It resembles the sense of walking on clouds and is predominantly blue and white.

The Bondi 9 is the latest version of the original Bondi, which was introduced in 2011. According to the brand, this shoe not only “marked a significant milestone in the company’s history”, but it also established Hoka as a performance footwear industry leader.

“The Bondi was the first shoe that introduced the world to the concept of a maximal cushioned road running shoe,” said Bekah Broe, senior director of product for performance footwear at Hoka.

“The new Bondi 9 is a leap forward in innovation, with its premium and plush cushioning, delivering on Hoka’s commitment to help running become more accessible to everybody – while solidifying Bondi as the brand’s most comfortable choice for daily miles.”

The pop-up location is also a collaboration with creative agency Branding Records, and Hoka partners with Hypebeans Cafe to provide Hoka-branded water bottles and a voucher for a hot beverage topped with Hoka marshmallows to improve the experience at the pop-up store.
