Filipino group to build Myanmar mall

The Philippines’ giant property developer Ayala Group is to build a new mall in Myanmar in a joint venture with local supermarket operator City Mart. Aeon heads to Myanmar

Aeon will be the first Japanese retailer to enter into Myanmar. The retailer plans to open its first shopping mall in Yangon by 2016. It is also developing a mall in Cambodia, slated for opening in June. It opened the first of a planned series of international standard shopping malls in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, last month, with another 19 scheduled by 2020.
