Molteni&C Japan’s second furniture and lighting flagship store has opened in Osaka. The brand’s first opened in Tokyo last year as part of a 10-year partnership with distribution company Arflex Japan. Covering 400 sqm, the latest store is on the first floor of the award-winning Benetton Shinsaibashi Building and draws its design inspiration from a spacious, western home. by light and shade, the store’s delicate tones highlighted with flashes of colour.
High-impact features include transparencies created by wide windows, a graphic hallmark of architect Vincent Van Duysen, who is creative director of both Molteni&C and Dada Kitchens. Sophisticated and natural materials in the store include glass, oxidised wood and resin, stone and sand. Warm greys alternate with luminous touches of colour.
