Wane, who until recently was leading the international growth strategy for the ice-cream company, will commence her San Churro role on September 27 and will return to Melbourne at the earliest opportunity. San Churro founder Giro Maurici, who has been CEO since 2017, steps into a new role as managing director of the business.  “It is with much excitement that I announce the appointment of Kerri Wane as my successor to the role of CEO of San Churro,” Maurici said. “Kerri brings a wide and unique range of experience that qualifies her for the role: spending time as a multi-unit franchise partner with Domino’s and growing through a variety of senior franchising, retail and QSR [quick service restaurant] leadership roles in Australia and India, with brands such as Domino’s, Mad Mex and Gelatissimo, to name just a few.” Maurici will support Wane during a transition period before officially moving into the MD position, where he will look towards the company’s “bigger picture growth ambitions”.  “We are at a pivotal time in the business; we see great opportunity to take our brand to the next level, but ensuring we do this in a way that doesn’t lose focus on the existing business is paramount. Flora & Fauna founder leads BWX D2C division Following BWX’s recent acquisition of eco-conscious retailer Flora & Fauna, Julie Mathers, Flora & Fauna’s CEO, has been appointed to lead BWX’s direct-to-consumer division, which includes the Nourished Life business.  “Not one to sit on my laurels, I am now running the D2C business for BWX, so two businesses driving change – Flora & Fauna and Nourished Life. It is a really exciting time as we build for the future, and the future is very bright,” Mathers posted on LinkedIn. Mathers and the Flora & Fauna team, including her husband, Tom, who is chief operations officer, joined BWX two months ago and have received a warm welcome. “The BWX team has been fantastic at welcoming us all and continuing that values-led, community feel we love,” Mathers said.  The D2C division is recruiting “more superstars” to join the team, including a digital marketing and e-commerce manager for Flora & Fauna (Sydney), a promotion specialist, and a customer care co-ordinator at Nourished Life (Melbourne).
