Michael Kors enters India

US luxury brand Michael Kors has expanded into India by opening its first store at DLF Emporio in New Delhi.

Michael Kors has partnered with Genesis Luxury Fashion to open the 1500 sqft store which carries ready-to-wear, accessories, footwear, eyewear, watches and handbags.

The store features leather furniture, metal fixtures and mirrored surfaces.

“The New Delhi store is our first venture into this growing market and we’re optimistic that it will play a key role in the long term growth of this company,” said CEO John Idol.

Genesis Luxury Fashion also represents other luxury brands including Burberry, Jimmy Choo, Bottega Veneta and Canali.

Michael Kors has experienced strong performance in the first quarter with net profit rise of 82 per cent to $125 million.

The New York-based luxury brand has 442 stores worldwide.

It expects full-year revenue to be in the range of $2.8 billion to $2.9 billion.
