FoodPanda expands to Philippines

Food delivery marketplace FoodPanda continues to grow its Asian reach.

Having raised US$20 million in a new round of funding earlier this year, FoodPanda has expanded its reach into the Philippines, taking advantage of the increasing number of online Filipinos.

Filipinos within Metro Manila can now order from over 500 partner restaurants from the comfort of their homes through FoodPanda’s web and mobile app.

“Metro Manila provides the perfect starting point for our undertaking of revolutionising the food industry in the Philippines,” said Foodpanda Philippines MD of operations Jasper Heyden.

“We definitely want to offer our service in more regions and cities. We are just starting to gain important insights about the Filipino market which will allow us to deliver an even better customer experience once we expand our service.”

FoodPanda faces competition from Singapore-based Food Runner which acquired the country’s City Delivery in March.
