Komehyo Hong Kong opens showroom

Used luxury goods retailer Komehyo Hong Kong has opened a downtown showroom as part of its Japanese parent’s regional expansion strategy to reach out to buyers outside Japan.

President of Komehyo Hong Kong, Toshio Sawada, said the showroom will help the company establish a strong presence in the territory and connect with overseas buyers.
The showroom will offer second-hand jewellery, watches, branded bags and accessories to relevant enterprises.

“Hong Kong is well connected with the world and Mainland China,” said Sawada. “It is a convenient and strategic location for Komehyo to serve its overseas buyers who are mostly from Mainland China.

“We expect that the Hong Kong office will help our company expand its sales channels and provide better customer service to overseas buyers outside Japan.”

Sawada said that during the past few years, Komehyo has been actively trading its second-hand jewellery and watches through trade fairs in Hong Kong.

“We have seen strong demand for luxury watches and diamond jewellery from overseas buyers. The opening of the showroom shows our growing confidence in Hong Kong.”
Associate director-general of investment promotion, Jimmy Chiang, said, with its free port and low tax regime, Hong Kong remains an ideal location to foreign companies wishing to showcase and market high-end quality goods to Mainland Chinese and other Asian customers.

“Setting up a permanent location in Hong Kong facilitates trade with international buyers throughout the year. Komehyo, with its strong branding in the industry, will easily find a foothold in Hong Kong. I wish its business every success.”
