Hong Kong’s EMSD has urged consumers to stop using an Ikea lamp due to the risk of electric shock.
The lamp, picture below, is sold by Ikea as the Gothem floor and table lamp range.



 
The EMS (Electrical and Mechanical Services Department) says people who own the lamps should contact Ikea Hong Kong to return the product and obtain a refund.
According to the supplier, damaged cables have been found in the bases of the products, which may lead to the metal body becoming electrically live, posing a potential risk of electric shock.
Ikea has  voluntarily recalled the product and undertaken to give consumers a full refund.
