Lock+Store introduces postal services

General Storage (GSC), which runs self-storage units in Singapore under the Lock+Store brand, has added postal services at its five locations.

Customers can send packages via ordinary mail, registered articles and Speedpost through the Singapore Post (SingPost) system.

Lock+Store’s eCommerce clients stand to benefit from the “store, pack and deliver” concept, says the company.

“In the current, tough economic climate, eCommerce storage is a key growth driver,” says CEO Helen Ng. “Our appointment as a postal agent enables us to provide order fulfilment support for eCommerce clients. They can save time, money and manpower…”

Commercial tenants that store inventory at Lock+Store can ship directly to customers through the new postal service. Consignment tracking will be available through the SingPost website or mobile app.

GSC was acquired by SingPost in 2013. There is also a Lock+Store unit in Malaysia. GSC also has 12 StoreFriendly self-storage locations in Singapore, and four branded as The Store House in Hong Kong.
