Milestone Caffe Vergnano 1882 for Singapore

Italian concept cafe Caffe Vergnano 1882 has opened in Singapore – its 100th international outlet.

At South Beach, the 114 sqm, 42-seater cafe continues a tradition that started with Dominico Vergnano launching his company in the foothills of Turin in 1882.

His one shop soon became three, and he made the bold move of buying a coffee plantation in Kenya. Today, the company exports to more than 70 countries, and the coffee-shop empire is run by his direct descendants.
While all Caffe Vergnano 1882 outlets have a consistent look and feel with modern Italian decor – oak walls, wooden floorboards and brown eco-leather banquettes – Singapore’s outlet is the first to feature an 8m by 6m LED wall. Another wall has a pictorial historical timeline of the brand.

Besides the mainstay 1882 espresso, the cafe offers a range of espresso-based drinks such as Caffe Gianduja (thick hot chocolate, espresso, whipped cream), Marocchino Speciale (espresso, foamed milk, chocolate powder, chocolate cream), Delizioso (Espresso, foamed milk, Nutella, whipped cream) and a Turin signature, the Bicerin (espresso and cocoa topped with cream).

Food is also available, including ravioli, steak and olive pie and Speculoos cheesecake.
