McDonald’s Vietnam ventures north to Hanoi
McDonald’s Vietnam has opened its first store in Hanoi, in the bustling Hoan Kiem district.
On a corner site, the two-storey 400sqm store has attracted a queue. The restaurant has views of Sword Lake.
McDonald’s Vietnam CEO Nguyen Huy Thinh says the brand will continue expanding in the capital and move into other northern cities “in the near future”.
The US fast-food brand arrived in Vietnam in 2014, launching in Ho Chi Minh City. It aims to have 100 restaurants throughout Vietnam within 10 years. The Hanoi store is its 17th outlet.
