Chinese underwear brand Neiwai has launched its first brick-and-mortar location in Singapore, accelerating its international expansion.

Located in Raffles City shopping centre, the new outlet highlights the brand’s selection of sportswear, loungewear, and casual wear for ladies as well as its expanding line of products for men.

Founded in 2012 by Xiaolu Liu, Neiwai (meaning ‘inside and outside’) focuses on producing functional clothes for modern women while also highlighting technology and innovation.

With the slogan “Made To Live In”, Neiwai provides a selection of lingerie, loungewear, and activewear made from eco-friendly fabrics and is committed to sustainable practices.

Neiwai has reportedly long sought to expand overseas, according to local sources. The company previously disclosed its ambitions for openings in New York and San Francisco in 2016 and 2019, but the plans were hampered by Covid-19.

Its official global website did not go live until 2020, and the Singapore launch is its first foray into global retail.

The company debuted its first brick-and-mortar location in Shanghai in 2017, and currently has 140 locations spread across 40 Chinese cities.
