Lotte launches Vietnam’s largest shopping mall

South Korean conglomerate Lotte Group has launched an extensive commercial complex, Lotte Mall Westlake Hanoi, which includes its largest shopping mall in Vietnam. 

Located in the Vietnamese capital’s Tay Ho District, the complex has a total floor area of 354,000sqm and houses a wide range of facilities, including a shopping mall, a supermarket, a hotel, an aquarium, and a cinema.

The mall, covering 222,000 sqm, was set for a soft opening for a trial period today (July 28) prior to the official inauguration on September 22.

It will accommodate 233 stores, introducing 25 brands to Vietnam, 28 new entrants to Hanoi, and 32 flagship concept stores. 

The basement will house the Lotte Mart, an innovative grocery store spread over roughly 4300sqm.

The shopping mall is expected to energise the local economy, creating over 3000 jobs. 

Lotte will also open the 23-story hotel L7 West Lake Hanoi By Lotte within the complex, which will offer 264 rooms, 192 residences, and five-star services.

The Lotte World Aquarium Hanoi will cover about 9000 sqm and will be the largest downtown aquarium in Vietnam. The Lotte Cinema will house 1007 seats.
