Samsonite has opened a new store at Suntec City in Singapore, which features the luggage retailer’s commitment to sustainability.

Among the sustainability features are the recrafted Balau wood sculptures, each piece of which has spent at least 30 years in shipyards at Tuas.

In addition, Samsonite created its new store’s facade using recycled aluminium sourced from a supplier known for producing luggage made of the material.

The cashier counter is also made of cleaned and shredded plastic waste while the shelves are made from recycled plastics crafted to look identical to the current glass and laminate sheets.

In addition, Samsonite will donate SG$10 (US$7.40) to WWF-Singapore’s Earth Hour campaign for every successful transaction at the Luggage Trade-in campaign.

The brand began its global sustainability strategy, “Our Responsible Journey”, focusing on product, planet and people in 2020.
