Fitting innovation: Lycra unveils patented stretch denim shaping technology

The Lycra Company has launched a stretch denim shaping technology that aims to provide a unique fit solution for shapes and body types.

Dubbed Fitsense, the patented technology offers targeted support to areas that often pose challenges in fit, such as the tummy and waist, thighs, and rear.

“Targeted support is engineered into stretch jeans using our technology, new fabric construction, and precision garment making,” said Ebru Ozaydin, global strategic marketing director for denim, wovens, and ready-to-wear, The Lycra Company.

“Our innovative solution is discreet and invisible, and jeans retain the authentic denim look and feel consumers love.”

Using the new stretch denim, designers have greater flexibility in shaping, supporting, and lifting garments. Moreover, the innovation provides a more customised experience for consumers, reducing costly returns related to poor fit.

“The Lycra brand has consistently redefined what is possible, and our technologies continue to reshape the apparel industry,” added Steve Stewart, chief brand and innovation officer, The Lycra Company.

Lycra FitSense was unveiled at the Kingpins Amsterdam supply chain show overnight and will be showcased at the upcoming Kingpins China next month and Kingpins New York in July.
