Singapore fashion brand Charles & Keith has opened its first flagship store in Chengdu, China.

The store is the brand’s fourth and largest worldwide, covering 564sqm with a two-storey retail space that combines the brand’s minimalist style with local influences.

The store’s exterior features greenery and stone-like seating designed to resemble a zen garden, aiming to provide customers with a serene and immersive retail experience. It also incorporates Chengdu-specific elements to showcase the local culture.

The interior is divided into two floors. The first floor is dedicated to bags, with a personalisation counter where customers can add embroidered initials, charms, bag straps, and trinkets. The second floor showcases the brand’s shoe collection, including its premium L’initial line, with large seating areas in vibrant colours.

As part of the store’s design, Charles & Keith commissioned an art piece titled “Good Time” by painter Zhao Wei, which the company says highlights the laidback versatility of the brand’s Charlot bag and adds a touch of creativity to the boutique’s ambience.

“Chengdu offers the perfect setting for the brand’s debut Maison in the market, with its stunning architectural landscape and vibrant spirit,” said the company.

“Embracing the brand’s signature blend of sophistication and style, the store is uniquely designed to capture the essence of the city while staying true to the brand’s minimalistic and elegant codes.”
