Philippine casual restaurant operator Wildflour Hospitality Group is considering an initial public offering (IPO) to support its nationwide expansion plans.

Ana Lorenzana de Ocampo, president and CEO, Wildflour, said that having an IPO is a “big possibility” for the company. “It is something we are discussing.”

“I can’t say yet (when) because it’s still being discussed. But definitely, we are looking at an IPO.”

Currently, Wildflour operates 27 stores across its various brands, including Wildflour Restaurant, George & Onnie’s Filipino Restaurant, Wildflour Italian, Pink’s, Farmacy Ice Cream and Soda Fountain, Little Flour Café, Pizza Sisters, Kei Maki, and Antica Osteria.

Last year, the company secured a US$15 million investment from Singapore-based private equity firm KV Asia Capital.

“Our partnership with KV Asia raises the ceiling for us to do these things,” de Ocampo added.

This year, Wildflour plans to open 12 to 14 new stores, with locations in SM North Edsa, Trinoma, Alabang, Makati, and, for the first time outside Metro Manila, in Cebu and Baguio.

“I’m hoping that the trajectory goes upward as we go into the year,” de Ocampo concluded.  “We wouldn’t be building all these restaurants if we didn’t feel confident about the market.”
