PTT Oil and Retail Business (OR), the retail and lifestyle arm of Thailand’s PTT Group, has reported record earnings for the first quarter of this year, as its flagship brand Cafe Amazon continues rapid expansion across Southeast Asia.
The cafe chain sold more than 112 million cups during the quarter and now operates 391 stores outside Thailand.
This cross-border momentum is at the centre of OR’s earnings growth, with total revenue reaching approximately US$5.6 billion and net profit rising 46 per cent from the previous quarter to close to $134 million – up 17.6 per cent year-on-year.
“This quarter’s performance reflects the resilience of our business model and the clarity of our long-term direction,” said ML Peekthong Thongyai, CEO of OR. “We are expanding with purpose, delivering value for people, prosperity for communities, and care for the planet.”
Cafe Amazon’s footprint now spans nine markets, including Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam, the Philippines, Malaysia, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and Japan.
The cafes form part of OR’s broader Global Business segment, which saw a 30.8 per cent year-on-year increase in sales volume and an 81.5 per cent rise in EBITDA.
“This isn’t just about selling fuel or coffee,” Peekthong said. “It’s about building platforms that empower local economies, foster entrepreneurship, and deliver long-term, sustainable growth.”
OR operates 415 PTT Stations and 391 Cafe Amazon outlets across Asia and the Middle East.
