Japanese retail group Aeon will expand its presence in Vietnam with the opening of Aeon Tan An, its eighth shopping mall in the country and the first in the Mekong Delta region.

The centre will begin operations on September 23, ahead of its launch on October 4.

Located in the administrative area of Tay Ninh province, Aeon Tan An sits along Hung Vuong arterial road, near National Highway 1A and just 1km from the Ho Chi Minh City–Trung Luong Expressway.

Aeon said the project reflects its “Daily Community Park” concept, combining modern design with green spaces and community-focused design. Around 11,000 plants have been added throughout the site, along with open seating areas and an outdoor terrace.

The mall will feature approximately 30 tenants, more than 80 per cent of which are entering the Mekong Delta for the first time. Anchored by the Aeon General Merchandise Store, the complex will include fashion and sports outlets, cafes, restaurants, bookstores, a cinema, and amusement facilities.

“Aeon Tan An is not only a place for shopping and entertainment, but also an ideal destination where people naturally gather and connect daily,” the company said.

“Every family member can discover exciting experiences, enjoy moments filled with joy in a modern shopping space, with high-standard services and diverse entertainment facilities.”

Aeon currently operates shopping centres in Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Hai Phong, and Binh Duong.

In May, Aeon said it was planning an eightfold expansion in Vietnam by 2030.
