Domino’s Pizza’s China operator DPC Dash is accelerating its expansion, adding 235 net new stores in the first half of this year as revenue climbed 20.8 per cent.

The company, which operates the Domino’s brand in mainland China, Hong Kong and Macau, reported revenue of RMB3.13 billion (US$440 million) for the six months ended June 30. Net profit rose 22.9 per cent year on year to RMB81 million, while same-store transaction growth reached 7.1 per cent.

Its network expanded to 1550 stores across 75 cities after entering 15 new cities during the period. The footprint now includes 532 stores in Tier 1 cities and 1018 stores in lower-tier markets.

“Looking ahead, while we will continue our disciplined store expansion, we will also focus on initiatives to elevate the ATP and continue to grow the transaction volumes,” said Aileen Wang, CEO & executive director of DPC Dash.

“We are confident in the long-term structural opportunity ahead as we build the leading pizza platform in China.”

The group plans to open approximately 350 net new stores this year, net of closures. As of August 14, it had opened an additional 27 stores, with 38 under construction and another 36 signed or approved, keeping it on track to meet its full-year opening target.

Alongside the rollout, DPC Dash plans to focus on improving sales at existing stores as third-party platform subsidies gradually abate.
