Ferragamo expands in China

Florence, Italy, based luxury brand Ferragamo has launched its 58th mono-brand store in China at the Shangri-La Hotel in Huhehaote.

The new 300sqm store is part of the brand’s direct store expansion strategy.

“The China market is very large and prestigious, in which the interest and knowledge for the luxury brand has grown rapidly,” said Michele Norsa, CEO of Ferragamo Group.

“The Chinese consumer appreciates in particular products made in Italy and has a highly developed aesthetic taste. The country is the future market, a rapidly expanding market and great potential, and we are proud that our new store opened at the Shangri-La Hotel.”

The company is focusing on expanding its business operation in China particularly in Shanghai. It plans to open eight stores across China by next year. It is also looking to expand in Africa, possibly opening first in Cairo.

“We are looking for potential and opportunities all around the world,” Norsa said.

Ferragamo has 586 mono-brand shops around the world.
