Multi-brand stores plan for India

DLF Brands, a subsidiary of real estate firm DLF Limited, plans to open five multi-brand retail shops selling international fashion brands in India each year.

“We will soon set up a new multi-brand format to better leverage the portfolio of 11 brands. The first one is set to come up in Delhi before the end of this year. The plan is to open four to five such stores each year,” said Dipak Agarwal, DLF Brands CEO, operations and strategy.

DLF Brands currently operates freestanding shops selling international brands such as Claire, Armani, Mothercare, Alcott, Boggi and DKNY.

The company will continue to expand standalone stores in the country, with its 100th store to be launched in the coming weeks. It is also planning to tap into the beauty and wellness category.

“We are talking to a few international brands in beauty and wellness segment and also looking to expand in the home segment where we currently have our own brand Pure & Living,” said Agarwal.

Agarwal said that the company will be investing Rs15 crore for one multi-brand shop measuring 10,000 to 15,000 sqft.
