“We are thrilled to have found an outstanding license partner in Kitchen Language and are looking forward to bringing our brand to Singapore,” said Justin Seamonds, president of Dean & DeLuca in a statement. “Singapore has a long history of global and regional culinary influences, and will be fantastic for our signature gourmet food markets.”

Described as “a culinary food haven”, Dean & DeLuca will offer a range of artisanal gourmet food selection from all over the world to Singapore, from fine cheeses and charcuterie to high quality olive oils, herbs and spices for the discerning epicurean, prepared foods and a bakery, pastry and coffee offer.

Kenneth Low, Director of Kitchen Language said the company wanted to partner with Dean & DeLuca “to bring the very best gourmet products and foods to Singapore”.

“Food is such a central part of the local culture in Singapore.  We have been seeing an increasing appetite and appreciation from consumers for high quality products and the lifestyle that comes with fine food and wine.  These days, it’s not only about dining at Michelin star restaurants on special occasions.  It is also about living with food, and that is Dean & DeLuca’s brand philosophy.”

Founded in 1977 by Joel Dean and Giorgio DeLuca with the opening of its flagship store in SoHo, New York, Dean & DeLuca has grown into a multi-channel retailer of gourmet foods, wines and kitchenware with operations throughout the US and international licenses abroad.

Kitchen Language, the franchised fast food and restaurant arm of Far East Organization, was formed in 2008 to bring the best food concepts and brands to Singapore. Besides being the master brand franchisee for several prominent US brands Kitchen Language also operates multiple fine dining restaurants in Singapore.
