De Beers expands in China

Luxury diamond merchant De Beers Diamond Jewellers has launched its first store in Dalian – its third in mainland China – at The Times Square Mall.

The newest store joins others in Beijing and Tianjin. Chinese consumers’ high demand for exquisite designs and diamonds of superlative quality has prompted expansion in China, De Beers says in a statement.

“We are delighted to open our first store in Dalian following the successful openings in Beijing in May and more recently in Tianjin. We are now able to fully share our exceptional passion and expertise in diamond selection, craftsmanship and design to one of the largest and most discerning markets in the world,” said François Delage, CEO.

The De Beers store in Dalian is spread across 55sqm and features collections including solitaires, timeless classics and one of a kind high jewellery creations.

Independently managed and operated company by LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton and De Beers SA, the retailer is known for its slogan ‘A diamond is forever’.

Established in 2001, De Beers now has a worldwide presence with stores in Fifth Avenue in New York, Printemps and Galeries Lafayette in Paris, Old Bond Street in London, The Landmark in Hong Kong, Shin Kong Place in Beijing and Ginza in Tokyo.
