American Apparel expands in Korea

California-based fashion apparel manufacturer, distributor and retailer American Apparel has opened a new store in South Korea.

Located in the Busanjin-gu district in Busan, the new store covers a 2312sqft area. It follows four other American Apparel stores, all located in Seoul.

“On the strength of our sales in this market, it made sense to capitalise on the opportunity in Korea. The people of Busan are stylish and fashionable and have always been avid consumers of our products, so we are excited to serve their needs with this retail location,” said Marsha Brady, creative director for American Apparel.

American Apparel, which had operated 249 retail stores in 20 countries as of November 2011, also operates a wholesale business that supplies high quality T-shirts and other casual wear to distributors and screen printers.
