J.Lindeberg debuts in Singapore

J.Lindeberg, a Swedish menswear label known for its elegant aesthetics, contemporary and high-quality materials, has opened first Southeast Asian store at Mandarin Gallery on Singapore’s Orchard Rd.

The 1200 sqft store houses polo-tees, sweaters, cardigans, denim jeans, blazers, silky cashmeres, a golf and ski collection and other items in smart, preppy patterns.

The J.Lindeberg Singapore boutique aims to create an elegant effect with full-length glass window facade, an interior decorated with images of the architectural heritage of Scandinavia blended with contemporary twist, vintage furniture and untreated concrete floors.

J.Lindeberg has been operating in Southeast Asia since 2006 through distributor Transview Lifestyle, a Singapore-based company engaged in retail and wholesale distribution of lifestyle sporting goods, which distributed J.Lindeberg golf apparel in sportswear stores and golf clubs in Southeast Asia.

Transview Lifestyle manager Derrick Lim said that sales of J. Lindeberg golf wear in Southeast Asia had increased by 300 per cent since 2006.

“When we progress into a new region or country, we usually either start with our fashion or sports lines. When sales are encouraging, we introduce more,” said Johan Lund, J.Lindeberg’s head of retail.

Lund said that next Southeast Asia locations are planned for Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur.

J.Lindeberg and its golf and ski collection are available in more than 30 countries worldwide including Stockholm, Copenhagen, Kitzbühel, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, Osaka, Hong Kong, Seoul and Malmö at  leading upscale departments stores, independent boutiques, and exclusive golf and ski shops.
