Forevermark to expand in India

Diamond jeweller De Beers Group plans to derive 20 per cent of its global sales from India in five years.

De Beers Group’s diamond brand Forevermark, which was introduced in India last year, is planned to be expanded to 100 points of sale by the end of this year from current 65 points of sale.

“We hope India will contribute 10-20 per cent of our worldwide sales in five years,” said Forevermark CEO Stephen Lussier.

He said the company is optimistic that Forevermark will pay off in India as diamond business in the country is increasing 20 per cent year on year.

Forevermark expansion is also directed into China, with a goal to make it account, together with India, third of its worldwide market by 10 years. Worldwide, it plans to increase presence through partnership with prominent jewellery retailers.
