British fashion brand Marks & Spencer has entered Kazakhstan with its first store in Almaty.

The three-storey store trading over 1400sqm offers its house brand range Autograph and its limited collection along with other lines that are also offered in the UK. The store is located within TsUM shopping centre alongside other international brands including Zara and Gap.

“With over 40 stores in Russia and Ukraine, our new Kazakh store builds on our established presence in the region which we will continue to grow over the next few years,” said Jan Heere, Marks & Spencer’s international director.

The new store underlines the company’s global expansion strategy in addition to more than 390 overseas stores in Europe, Asia and the Middle East.

The M&S store in Almaty is operated by a franchisee, Saudi Arabian retailer Alhokair.
