H&M in Malaysian debut

Malaysia’s array of international apparel brands will soon have a new addition – Sweden’s global fast fashion powerhouse H&M.

H&M’s first Malaysia store will span 36,000 sqft over three levels and is due to open its doors on September 22 at Lot 10, Bukit Bintang, Kuala Lumpur.

“H&M has always been about making fashion and quality at the best price and we look forward to bringing something new and exciting to Kuala Lumpur,” said Lex Keijser, country manager for H&M Greater China, Singapore and Malaysia.

The launch will be followed by a second store inside Setia City Mall in Shah Alam in the last quarter of the year. The store will lease a retail space of 17,000 sqft.

“This addition to our retail mix also ensures we cement our positioning and are able to achieve our vision of becoming the destination of choice for shopping, dining, entertainment and parklife,” said Setia City Mall leasing director Mitchell Wilson.

Meanwhile, Bangkok will get its first H&M store in September, located in a prime space inside the Siam Paragon complex.

And a second H&M store will open in Singapore before the year’s end. This store, spanning 20,000 sqft, will be housed in basement levels two and three of Ion Orchard.

H&M, which offers wide range of fashion for men, women and children, has a presence in 44 markets operating around 2600 stores.
