Amazon China head to exit

Wang Hanhua, who has headed Amazon China since 2005, will exit the company, Amazon.com said.

Hanhua will leave the company by the end of November to do something he is more interested in, says a spokesman.

The spokesman denied rumors that Hanhua is leaving Amazon to join Apple or an Amazon competitor.

Amazon VP of retail operations Steve Frazier will act as interim country head while the company is looking for a permanent replacement.

“Because Steve has been with Amazon for quite a while, the thing we want to say to the outside is… everything will be operating smoothly,” the spokesman said, adding that Amazon would continue to expand its operations in China.
