Childrens mall to open in Malaysia

Property developer Tetap Tiara will open Malaysia’s first learning enrichment mall next year within the commercial project Jaya One.

To be called The School, the mall will offer a venue for young, urban mothers and families to learn, grow and entertain. It will offer a spectrum of enrichment establishments to promote creative learning amongst teens and toddlers.

The mall will commit 30 per cent of its tenant mix to enrichment centres from visual and performance art centres, devoted to the development of children from toddlers to teens.

Fashion, apparel, convenience and essential stores will make up a total 40 per cent of stores. The remaining 30 per cent is split between food and beverage and specialty retail.

“We want to realise our vision to create an unprecedented mall experience that puts children’s learning and mom’s personal needs first,” said Tetap Tiara executive director Charles Wong said.

“Expect a holistic mix of tenants that will benefit mother and child from paediatricians to beauty salons and edutainment centres to fashion retailers,” he added.

Above and beyond the usual mall facilities, The School offers parent privileges like designated parking for mothers, fully equipped parenting rooms and strollers on request. Shoppers can also expect a decked-out Dad’s Lounge, a strategically located haven for babysitting fathers to recoup with their young ones.
