Haier tops brand rankings

Euromonitor has ranked Chinese home appliances brand Haier as the number one appliance brand in the world with 8.6 per cent retail volume share.

This is the fourth consecutive year the brand has finished on top.

According to the business intelligence provider, Haier is the number one brand of refrigeration appliances in the world with 14.8 per cent retail volume share this year, up 1.1 points from last year.

Haier also topped the home laundry and freezer rankings with retail volume share of 11.8 per cent and 18.6 per cent, respectively.

The need for global household appliances continues to decrease due to the effects of financial crisis and the European debt crisis, says Euromonitor.

However, Haier has won global consumers’ favor with its differentiated products, and its global market share has increased continuously.

The report indicates that, Haier again ranked as the number one major appliances brand in the world, with a 0.8 per cent growth for Haier in global brand market share from 2011.
