Japanese retail group Aeon has opened its first Maxvalu supermarket in China.

The first store is located in Guangzhou in Guangdong province. It is the third brand operated by Aeon in China in addition to Jusco and Aeon.

The 2500 sqm store sells more than 15,000 products. Aeon says the next store will open in Suzhou in Jiangsu later this year.

Long term plan includes 100 Maxvalu stores across the mainland by 2020.
