Bulgarian dairy products manufacturer Lactina plans to operate more than 870 yogurt shops in China by the end of 2014.

Lactina, through its local partner Zhejiang Shangzheng Commerce and Trade, entered China in September, opening its first store selling yogurt products and starter cultures.

Zhejiang Shangzheng Commerce and Trade has entered into an agreement with retail giant Walmart China to market yogurt products. Part of the agreement sees Lactina operating yogurt bars inside Walmart stores there.

The first bar will open in June. The company’s goal is to operate 852 yogurt bars inside Walmart by the end of 2014 plus 20 standalone shops.
