Tokyo’s retail scene will face a shake-up as two of its major retail developments Roppongi Hills and Tokyo Midtown revise the lineup of their stores.
The shakeup includes the closure of Bottega Veneta store at Tokyo Midtown and its reopening at Roppongi Hills a few weeks later. The luxury brand declined to explain the reason behind the change of location.
Tokyo Midtown, developed by Mitsui Fudosan, will offer 42 new stores and restaurants in April including Ron Herman, Valextra, Mackintosh Philosophy, Jacob Cohen and Adeam.
Meanwhile, Roppongi Hills, an integrated retail development owned by Minoru Mori, will celebrate its 10th anniversary in April. Part of the celebration would be the addition of new stores including Burberry, Alexander McQueen, Stella McCartney and Issa London.
