Church’s Chicken plans Asian expansion

Church’s Chicken, a US-based fast food chain specialising in fried chicken, is eying further expansion in Asia.

The fast food chain says it is looking to open outlets in Thailand and Taiwan. The chain is currently operating in Indonesia and Singapore and has just expanded into Vietnam and Malaysia.

“Asia continues to be a focus for Church’s Chicken and Texas Chicken,” says Bill Schreiber, VP of global franchising for Church’s Chicken.

He said Thailand and Taiwan, where people eat chicken as a staple part of their diet, represent strong opportunities for the right franchisee.

Vietnam Franchises, a Vietnamese franchising and licensing consultancy, will assist Church’s Chicken and Texas Chicken in finding strong and experienced F&B operators who share the same vision and passion.

“We expect high demand for this superior franchise,” said Vietnam Franchises MD Sean Ngo.

Quick-service chicken concept Church’s Chicken and Texas Chicken currently operates more than 1700 locations in 23 countries and has a system-wide sales of $1.2 billion.
