UK-based luxury fashion brand Issa London will be making its debut in Japan with a standalone store at Roppongi Hills.

The brand’s confidence in the market stems from the success of a pop-up store at Mitsukoshi, Ginza opened last year.

“Japan is the gateway to Asia and we intend to expand into Hong Kong and China within the next few years. We will then become a truly global brand,” said chairman Camilla Al Fayed.

“What Issa makes popular in Japan is a love of our quirky prints, our color palette and elegant silhouettes,” she said.

This year will also see the brand opening in Brazil, says the chairman.

Aside from Asia, Issa London will also expand in the Middle East with Kuwait as first location.

“We expect to open a store in Kuwait by the end of the year, with several more planned over the following four years,” said Al Fayed.
