More Uniqlo stores for Hong Kong

Fast Retailing-owned apparel chain, Uniqlo, plans to expand its network in Hong Kong as part of its global expansion.

The retailer says it will open six new stores in Tuen Mun, Tseung Kwan O, Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon Bay, Sha Tin and Kwun Tong.

Uniqlo’s expansion plan follows its recent opening in Causeway Bay at Lee Theatre Plaza. The new store, which spans 37,500 sqft over three levels, is the brand’s 10th flagship store worldwide.

Tadashi Yanai, founder and president of Fast Retailing, plans to make Uniqlo the number one brand in every market in which it is present. The parent company plans to open 200 to 300 Uniqlo stores annually, it says.

Currently, there are more than 1200 Uniqlo stores globally.
