Zhongmin Baihui opens new China store

Department store operator Zhongmin Baihui has opened its 10th store in Quanzhou City, Fujian province.

The new store has a total gross floor area of 188,000 sqft and comprises four floors including a basement car park.

The new store is located next to one of the oldest Buddhist temples, Kaiyuan Temple. Besides offering services typical of a department store and hypermarket, the new store provides tourist-friendly services underpinning the tourism promotion efforts initiated by the Quanzhou City Tourism Bureau and Department of Cultural Affairs.

One of the tourism support amenities of the new store is a tourist service counter which offers information on shopping, leisure, entertainment, food and tour packages of the area.

“Since the launch of our very first store, Quanzhou City has always played a pivotal role in our rapid development in Fujian province and we believe there are still opportunities to be more extensive in our operations there,” said Zhongmin Baihui executive chairman Lee Swee Keng.

“Following the opening of our 10th store, Quanzhou Xinhua Store, we shall continue to add one more store in Quanzhou City, Qiaonan Store, this year to reinforce our branding in our home base, Fujian province.”

In line with its strategy to expand its retail footprint in China, the company plans to roll out three more new stores in Fujian province by end of the year, namely Quanzhou Qiaonan Store, Xiamen Zhongshan Store and Zhangzhou Longwen Store.
