Thai food chains plan major India expansion

Food chains operator Global Franchise Alliance plans to invest more on expanding its owned outlets.

The company says it will invest 300 million baht to open 30 Pizza Corner and some Cream & Fudge ice cream parlours in India with a goal to have 140 Indian outlets by 2014.

Domestically, it plans to open 15 new outlets with an investment of 150 million baht.

CEO Fred Mouawad says Thailand and India present huge opportunities for the company.

The company also operates in Indonesia and Malaysia through franchises, but has no plan to expand in those markets at the present time.

Besides Pizza Corner and Cream & Fudge, GFA also operates Coffee World, Stone Fire Pizza Kitchen, New York 5th Av. Deli and Donut Baker.
