Van Heusen plans Indian expansion

Premium lifestyle fashion brand Van Heusen is to further expand its network in India.

It plans to open 10 exclusive womenswear stores and up to five accessories-only stores this year.

The additional stores are among 50 new Van Heusen stores planned for 2013.

The company says the expansion is also part of its strategy to grow its turnover to 20 per cent.

“Despite the sluggish demand in the operating market we will grow due to our expansion plans and product innovations,” said Van Heusen brand head Vinay Bhopatkar.

Van Heusen currently has 200 exclusive stores and seven womenswear outlets. It will open its first accessories-only store in Cochin next month.
