Filipino food chain to open in Vegas

Filipino food chain Max’s Restaurant is to open a store in Las Vegas in September.

Max’s is optimistic about Las Vegas’ potential to contribute to the company’s growth due to its high number of visitors. The city is recording around 40 million visitors annually, according to the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority.

Besides the Las Vegas outlet, Max’s also plans restaurant openings in Canada, Qatar and Kuwait.

Max’s said the company’s international expansion strategy targets areas with huge Filipino population.

“We needed the Filipino community to help us bring Max’s to the mainstream,” said Max’s Franchising Inc president Robert Trota.

Domestically, where it has 135 outlets, Max’s plans to open six to eight new outlets before the year-end, it says.

Future expansion plan includes opening in Asian countries such as Thailand, Indonesia and Singapore.

Founded in 1945, Max’s is famous for its signature fried chicken dish.
