7-Eleven targets 1000 Philippine stores

Franchisee Philippine Seven Corp plans to end the year with 1000 7-Eleven stores across the Philippines.

The company, which currently operates 900 7-Eleven stores in the country, plans moving into Mindanao.

“As PSC continues with its aggressive expansion plans, the company will continue to widen its store presence to eventually include Mindanao, making 7-Eleven truly national,” PSC president Jose Victor Paterno said.

7-Eleven began expanding outside Luzon when it opened stores in Cebu last year. Currently, it has 29 stores in Visayas which are planned to be expanded to 60 by the end of the year.

Paterno is upbeat about the country’s prospects as consumer affluence increases.

He said, Philippine Seven Corp plans to take the number of 7-Eleven stores in the country by end-2014 to 1300.
