Cookie Man expands to Bangladesh

Australian cookie chain Cookie Man has expanded into Bangladesh.

Located in Dhaka, the first store spans 730 sqft and stocks cookies, muffins, brownies and donuts.

Parent company Australian Foods India Pvt Ltd, an India-Australian joint venture, also plans taking the brand to Sri Lanka.

“The Cookie Man’s product line exemplifies a youthful international palate that appeals to a wide cross-section of people across ages. We feel this is the right time for us to explore these markets,” said Australian Foods India CEO Anupam Saluja.

Cookie Man also operates 60 stores in India since its first opening a decade ago. It expects business to grow by 20 per cent over the next three years.

The brand was founded by Kevin Hicks who opened first store in Melbourne in 1958.
