Apple to open new Tokyo store

Apple will open a new store in trendy Omotesando in Tokyo in early March.

The store is currently under construction and is expected to be completed by February.

The building housing the new Apple store spans three levels, but, Apple did not disclose how many floors it will occupy.

The iPhone and iPad maker has already seven stores in Japan with the last opened in 2005.

Real estate services and investment firm CBRE’s new research has ranked Tokyo, at $864 per sqft per annum, as the seventh most expensive city for retailers. But that has not deterred Apple which is achieves the highest sales per square metre of any global retailer.
