Sephora debuts in Thailand

French cosmetics retailer Sephora is to debut in Thailand this year.

Sephora will open a 650 sqm store at the newly renovated Siam Center in Bangkok in two months.

The store will offer more than 1500 products and will introduce new cosmetics brands to the country.

Joining Sephora will be US lingerie retailer Victoria’s Secret which will also debut at Siam Center.

So will Spanish clothing and accessories retailer Pull & Bear, one of Inditex’s brands, which will open a 550 sqm store within the mall.

More than 20 global brands have committed to anchor the mall in the next months, according to Caroline Murphy, EVP of Siam Piwat, the operator of Siam Center.

She said the new commitments reflect global retailers’ confidence in Thailand’s retail industry.

Siam Piwat spent more than 1.8 billion baht (more than $57 million) in renovating and more than 200 million baht (more than $6 million) in launching the Siam Center which is inspired by Soho District of New York. Part of the renovation’s goal is to attract new brands that have never had presence anywhere else before.
