Miu Miu opens Shanghai store

Miu Miu has opened a stunning new store in Shanghai’s IAPM Mall.

With a 10-metre high facade and a retail space arranged on two levels, the store has an imposing presence amidst a collection of luxury boutiques.

On the ground floor, two rooms, enveloped in the iconic damask fabric are dedicated to bags, accessories and footwear collections, displayed like upscale jewellery pieces in safe-shaped display cases.

At the centre, a spiral staircase of matte gold and marble, leads to the upper floor where the ready-to-wear collection is presented in mirrored crystal cases.

The store, designed by Architect Roberto Baciocchi, maintains Miu Miu’s historic image and brand identity, with a blend of classic elements and contemporary details.

Miu Miu, a high fashion brand of women’s clothing and accessories from the Prada fashion house, achieved revenue growth of 4.1 per cent during the the first half of this year.

Sister brands Prada’s sales grew 14.3 per cent and Church’s by 5.4 per cent.

The 100-year old fashion house plans to open as many as 80 stores this year in addition to its more than 490 directly operated stores worldwide.
