Landmark eyes Indian growth

Dubai-based Landmark Group plans to boost its share of India’s retail market.

The company plans to open 20 Lifestyle department stores across India over the next three years in addition to its existing 40.

The expansion will entail an investment of Rs450 crore, says Lifestyle International Pvt Ltd MD Kabir Lumba.

Lifestyle has been in India since 1999 when it opened its first store in Chennai.

Parent Landmark Group has also launched several of its core retail concepts in India including Home Center (home improvement stores), Max (value fashion chain), Auchan (hypermarket), Fun City (fun and entertainment centres) and Splash (high street fashion).
