KFC Indonesia feels upbeat

Fast food chain KFC expects to book a 10 per cent revenue growth next year in Indonesia.

Its local operator, PT Fastfood Indonesia (FAST), expects to generate 4.53 trillion rupiah ($78.6 million) revenue next year from an estimated 4.1 trillion rupiah this year.

The company said this year’s trading environment has been difficult due to fuel and gas price hikes, rise in food prices and growing competition from popular local culinary businesses.

However, it is optimistic sales will pick up this month due to holiday demand.

FAST is allocating a capex of up to 350 billion rupiah ($29.16 million) next year to open 33 new KFC outlets in Indonesia and refurbish some existing ones.

KFC Indonesia currently has 279 outlets.
